When you embark on the IVF process, you want all the support you can get to make it a success. One important thing to add to the mix is fertility acupuncture. Your fertility clinic may have recommendations for you for fertility acupuncturists who specialize in infertility. It’s important to see fertility acupuncture specialists with experience. We are ABORM-certified acupuncturists with decades of experience supporting people through the IVF process and into successful pregnancies. We support local Bay Area fertility clients and clients from out of town here to visit a nearby IVF clinic.
The best way to use acupuncture is to get as much as you can before you start the process of IVF. But you might have just learned about acupuncture to support your fertility and be later in the process or right before your egg retrieval or embryo transfer and that is okay too. We are here to support you wherever you are in the process. Any acupuncture you receive is going to be helpful to calm your nervous system, increase blood flow to your ovaries and uterus, and help balance and strengthen your body to get you ready for your fertility treatment.
East Bay Acupuncture fertility IVF treatment plan:
Weekly acupuncture sessions leading up to IVF (can start 3-6 months before)
Twice weekly in the two weeks leading up to egg retrieval*
Twice weekly in the two weeks leading up to embryo transfer*
Pre/post acupuncture for IVF transfer on the day of your transfer
Continue with weekly acupuncture until your beta hCG and prenatal care for at least the 1st trimester - we also specialize in prenatal care and see clients throughout pregnancy.
*If you just found East Bay Acupuncture and are about to have your retrieval or transfer, come in twice weekly or as soon as you can before your procedures. We meet some of our clients two weeks before IVF, and some we meet on the day of their transfer. We welcome you whenever you get here and will support you the best we can with our integrative and caring fertility expertise.
